A dear friend of the Intracranial Hypertension community needs our help, and we are hoping you can all join in and help. For privacy reasons we will call her "Sandy". Sandy is one of the most giving people I have ever met, and has never said no to a fundraiser or donation, even if that meant going without for herself. Now Sandy needs some help, let me tell you a little about her.
Sandy lost the love of her life and father of her daughter while he was protecting our country, and our freedoms. Not long after, Sandy started to become sick. Day by day it became worse, and she was diagnosed with Psuedo Tumor Cerebri (aka Intracranial Hypertension- the same disease Raymond Vanco himself suffers . This is a debilitating disease that takes over your life, day by day. This also caused her to develop a chiari malformation (brain stem and spinal cord complications) as well as auto-immune disease. Not long after her diagnoses, her young daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and needed surgery. Sandy put her health on hold to care for her daughter. After the childs' surgery and long recovery, she needed intense therapy and constant care. All the while, Sandy deteriorated in health.
Sandy has since started her own treatments, requiring multiple surgeries and care. Neurosurgeons in NY are apprehensive about treating her, because Sandy is now in a wheel chair and requires constant care. Thankfully her family has always been there to help, but now Sandy needs more. She is not stable enough at this point to live at home, and her insurance will not pay for a nursing home while the doctors try to figure out a medical plan. The facilities want more money than she receives monthly, and will not admit her without upfront payment.
Currently Sandy is staying in a motel close to the hospital with her fiance so he can get her there quickly if needed, a request her current doctor made of her after having to be transported by ambulance three times in the last month. Payment goes on her credit card, and she has no way of paying that bill. If we can raise enough money, Sandy can be cared for in the correct environment and have the proper treatments she is in need of.
I am asking you at this time if you can PLEASE find it in your heart to help. Any donation will help get her closer to treatment, and being able to go home to her daughter. also, if you can pass along to your friends and family, it would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
